Eastern had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Sheridan Blackhawks 47-18. Considering the Comets have won five contests by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Pickett, who rushed for 127 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries. Gibson Eagle was another key passer, throwing for 157 yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Eastern was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why Sheridan lost, don't look at Brock Hagan. Despite the final result, he rushed for 82 yards and one score, and also threw for 67 yards and one touchdown.

Eastern's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Sheridan, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
