Football Game Preview: Lakes Eagles vs. Grayslake North Knights + Official Tickets

Lakes and Grayslake North are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakes will be strutting in after a victory while Grayslake North will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Lakes against North Chicago as the team secured a 46-7 win. Considering the Eagles have won three games by more than 38 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ean Ankney was his usual excellent self, throwing for 118 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punching in one TD on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (157.5).

Meanwhile, Grayslake North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Antioch and fell 49-8. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 379th, while the Sequoits are ranked 105th).

Lakes pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.3 points on average over those games. As for Grayslake North, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Lakes took a serious blow against Grayslake North in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 40-0. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
