Softball Recap: Orange Park Comes Up Short

Orange Park came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-7 to the Sandalwood Saints. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Regan Barnett and Zoe Pascoe did some serious damage despite the final result: Barnett went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Pascoe scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Makayla Ballard also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Orange Park's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Sandalwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orange Park will venture away from home to face off against Ridgeview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sandalwood, they will head out to square off against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints are facing the Generals at the right time seeing as the Generals are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
