Volleyball Recap: Mercy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mercy not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on the Lauralton Hall Crusaders with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

While Mercy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-23, 25-15.

Mercy was led to victory by Charlotte Parker and Sarah Carter. Parker had seven aces and five digs, while Carter had six kills and four aces. Parker is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 17 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Mercy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lauralton Hall only served three.

Despite the loss, Lauralton Hall had strong showings from Maja Brown, who had ten digs, and Ellie O'Kane, who had five digs and two aces.

With the win, Mercy broke their five-match losing streak and moved their record to 5-10. As for Lauralton Hall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.

Mercy has already played their next contest (against West Haven), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lauralton Hall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Shelton on the 3rd.
