Baseball Recap: Ambridge Wins Going Away Against Hopewell

Ambridge hadn't done well against Hopewell recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Ambridge blew past Hopewell 7-1. The game was the first time the Bridgers have beaten the Vikings on their field since May 5, 2023.

Joe Leseiko made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Carter Mason was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Liam Baker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Ambridge lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hopewell didn't launched any home runs.

Ambridge's record is now 4-2-1. As for Hopewell, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Ambridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hopewell: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
