Football Game Preview: Ludlowe Falcons vs. Shelton Gaels + How To Watch

The Ludlowe Falcons are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Shelton Gaels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ludlowe will be strutting in after a victory while Shelton will be coming in after a defeat.

Ludlowe is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Westhill: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Falcons blew the Vikings out of the water with a 56-6 final score. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Falcons' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Vikings are ranked 116th).

Ludlowe relied on the efforts of Alessandro Giron, who gained 92 total yards and two touchdowns, and Ryan Love, who threw for 167 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes. Giron's longest reception was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. Jackson Danylko made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Ludlowe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Timmy O'Neill, Danylko, Peyton Sparacino, and Carlo Noecker picked up one apiece. Danylko got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 41 points the game before, Shelton was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell 21-10 to West Haven. The Gaels haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Ludlowe has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 47.0 points this season. As for Shelton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
