Basketball Recap: Crete-Monee Warriors vs. Bloom Blazing Trojan

Crete-Monee lost against Bloom back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Crete-Monee Warriors were outmatched by the Bloom Blazing Trojan and fell 69-38. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 377th, while the Blazing Trojan are ranked 91st).

Crete-Monee lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ayomide Olanrewaju, who posted six points and six boards. Morgan Johnsom was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Crete-Monee and nudges their season record down to 8-11. As for Bloom, they pushed their record up to 18-8 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Crete-Monee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-18 defeat against Kankakee on the 27th. Bloom has also already played their next contest, a 52-41 victory against Rich Township on the 27th.
