Baseball Recap: University of Detroit Jesuit Comes Up Short

After flying high against West Bloomfield on Saturday, University of Detroit Jesuit came back down to earth. The Cubs fell just short of the Lutheran North Mustangs by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cubs of the 11-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

University of Detroit Jesuit saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brock Ballard, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. James Schilp was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The defeat snapped University of Detroit Jesuit's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-19 record. As for Lutheran North, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

As of now, neither University of Detroit Jesuit nor Lutheran North have any future games scheduled.
