Softball Recap: Canal Winchester Comes Up Short

Canal Winchester couldn't beat Marysville on Friday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Indians came up short against the Monarchs, falling 17-6.

Kendal Mccrea made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of AriAnnA Jeffries, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Canal Winchester has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Marysville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canal Winchester will host Bishop Hartley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season. As for Marysville, they will face off against Groveport-Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
