Volleyball Recap: Mountain Grove Takes a Loss

Mountain Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Willow Springs Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Mountain Grove sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-19, 23-25, 26-24, 20-25, 15-13.

Emma Grogan was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 13 digs and two assists. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September. Zoey Bryan was another key player, getting 11 digs.

Mountain Grove's loss dropped their record down to 7-15-1. As for Willow Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6-3 record this season.

Mountain Grove has already played their next match (against Salem), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Willow Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Cabool on the 16th.
