The Columbia Academy Cougars will face off against the St. Aloysius Flashes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Columbia Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Copiah Academy get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

Reed Duncan looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Corban Lawrence, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since April 1st. Roman Lawrence was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, St. Aloysius made sure to put some runs up on the board against Silliman Institute on Friday. The Flashes narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wildcats 12-11. That's two games straight that the Flashes have won by just one run.
Walt Andrews made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Andrews was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of St. Aloysius' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 10-11 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Pierson Smith was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Laken Bradley, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
St. Aloysius always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
St. Aloysius pushed their record up to 17-11 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Columbia Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 24-8.
St. Aloysius' pitching crew better be locked in on Tuesday. Columbia Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.2 home runs per game. It's a different story for St. Aloysius, though, as they've been averaging only 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Columbia Academy in the park?
