Basketball Recap: Flint Hill Huskies vs. Sidwell Friends Quakers
Flint Hill lost against Sidwell Friends last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Flint Hill Huskies took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sidwell Friends Quakers. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 35th in Virginia, while the Quakers are ranked third in District of Columbia).
Jalyn Collingwood had a dynamite game for Sidwell Friends, going 9-for-17 on his way to 25 points and five rebounds. Jadah Washington was another key player, putting up six points along with eight boards and four steals.
Flint Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Sidwell Friends, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
Flint Hill will challenge St. Anne's-Belfield on Tuesday. St. Anne's-Belfield will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Flint Hill surely won't give up without a fight. Sidwell Friends does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
