Basketball Recap: Thurgood Marshall's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Thurgood Marshall needed a changed in momentum after dropping five straight games and they got it from Norman Spearman. The Thurgood Marshall Cougars snuck past the Belmont Bison with a 53-47 victory on Friday thanks in part to Spearman, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 19 points and five boards. What's more, he also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024.

Thurgood Marshall's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Belmont, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Thurgood Marshall didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-67 victory against Ponitz Career Tech on the 24th. Belmont has also already played their next contest, a 69-21 loss against New Albany on the 18th.
