Baseball Game Preview: Pike Liberal Arts Patriots vs. Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats

The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots will head out to square off against the Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Presbyterian took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Pike Liberal Arts, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Pike Liberal Arts beat Holtville 10-5.

Meanwhile, Trinity Presbyterian came up short against Lincoln Christian on Wednesday and fell 7-3. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly four runs.

Trinity Presbyterian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Bernier, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another was Xavier Boswell, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Pike Liberal Arts has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Trinity Presbyterian and nudges their season record down to 9-7-1.

Pike Liberal Arts was able to grind out a solid victory over Trinity Presbyterian in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 9-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pike Liberal Arts since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
