Basketball Recap: Alpaugh Comes Up Short

Alpaugh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 79-31 defeat at the hands of the Kings Christian Crusaders. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Buffalos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 93-23 back in January.

Josh Banuelos Jr. was Alpaugh's leading scorer, having posted six points. Banuelos Jr. also led the team in rebounds with four. Richard Luna took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

It was another big night for Trey Brouwer, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 boards for Kings Christian. Those 24 points gave Brouwer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elyas Miro, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 16 points and seven assists.

Alpaugh's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Kings Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-4.

Alpaugh has already played their next match, a 51-42 defeat against Riverdale Christian on the 3rd. As for Kings Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 77-31 victory against Laton on the 4th.
