It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mallard Creek can now relate to. They fell just short of the Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls by a score of 37-34 on Friday. The Mavericks' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Mallard Creek still got an impressive performance from My'Asia Young, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards. Young is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Sydney Mcguire was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Ma-Kaela Gidney was her usual excellent self, shooting 42% from the field on her way to 22 points for Hickory Ridge. Another player making a difference was Jada Powell, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Mallard Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 25-4. As for Hickory Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

Mallard Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hickory Ridge, they will venture away from home to challenge Marvin Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marvin Ridge will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Hickory Ridge surely won't give up without a fight.
