Basketball Recap: Franklin Has No Trouble Against Socorro

Franklin was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Socorro on Friday. The Franklin Cougars were the clear victor by a 54-30 margin over the Socorro Bulldogs. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Franklin found their leader in freshman Allison De La O, who posted 13 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Winfield, who put up ten points.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Socorro, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.

Franklin will face off against Eastlake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season. As for Socorro, they will square off against Pebble Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pebble Hills has 12 straight wins, Socorro has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
