Basketball Recap: Morgan Park Academy Comes Up Short

Morgan Park Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 67-43 to the Latin Romans on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since February 20, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Morgan Park Academy lost, don't look at Tiara Williams. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double with 29 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Williams' 15th in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cecelia Drown, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Morgan Park Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups.

Morgan Park Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Latin, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-7.
