Basketball Game Preview: North Hollywood Huskies vs. Poly Parrots

North Hollywood hasn't had much luck against Poly recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The North Hollywood Huskies will look to defend their home court against the Poly Parrots at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

North Hollywood is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Verdugo Hills on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. North Hollywood lost 81-56 to Verdugo Hills. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-17.

Meanwhile, Poly waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They took down the Lancers 70-53.

Poly had a senior duo take command as Quian Khawaja posted 34 points and JD Wyatt had 29 points. The match was Wyatt's 31st in a row with at least 16 points.

Poly's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.5 points over those games. As for North Hollywood, their loss dropped their record down to 8-16.

North Hollywood took a serious blow against Poly in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 91-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wyatt, who scored 32 points. Now that North Hollywood knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
