Softball Game Preview: Baldwin Highlanders vs. South Park Eagles

The Baldwin Highlanders will take on the South Park Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Baldwin 3.9, South Park 0.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Baldwin's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Trinity hitters got past them. The Highlanders lost 16-6 to the Hillers on Tuesday. The Highlanders' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Ryley Shaw made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, South Park strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Charleroi a 3-0 shutout. The Eagles' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four games.

South Park's win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Baldwin, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.
