Basketball Game Preview: Westmoreland Eagles vs. Macon County Tigers

Westmoreland and Macon County are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. The Westmoreland Eagles will challenge the Macon County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Macon County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Westmoreland, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Westmoreland didn't have too much trouble with Hunters Lane as they won 52-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Macon County lost to Liberty Creek on the road by a 70-51 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Wolves are ranked 77th).

Westmoreland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Macon County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything went Westmoreland's way against Macon County when the teams last played on December 10th, as Westmoreland made off with a 45-24 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westmoreland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
