Basketball Game Preview: Covenant C Crusaders vs. Oak City Prep Bears

Covenant C is 0-3 against Oak City Prep since January of 2025 but things could change on Thursday. The Crusaders will head out to take on the Bears at 5:00 p.m.

Covenant C is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Fayetteville O two weeks ago (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Crusaders were outmatched by the Outliers and fell 80-34. The Crusaders were down 57-27 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Oak City Prep entered their tilt with Varsity Opponent on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against Varsity Opponent by a score of 98-88.

Oak City Prep's win came from a few key players Covenant C will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Amazin Dixon, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double with 31 points and ten assists. His evening made it 28 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Rullo, who went 8-for-13 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points.

Oak City Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. They are 5-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

Covenant C's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Oak City Prep, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Covenant C took a serious blow against Oak City Prep in their previous matchup back in February, falling 87-25. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
