Basketball Game Preview: Central Crossing Comets vs. Hilliard Darby Panthers

Having just played yesterday, the Central Crossing Comets will head out on the road to face off against the Hilliard Darby Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Central Crossing came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against New Albany, falling 49-28. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 451st, while the Eagles are ranked 40th).

Meanwhile, Hilliard Darby posted their closest win since February 2, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Olentangy, sneaking past 50-47. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Central Crossing dropped their record down to 5-13 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Hilliard Darby, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.

Central Crossing and Hilliard Darby were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but Central Crossing came up empty-handed after a 35-34 defeat. Can Central Crossing avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
