Baseball Recap: Ray Texans vs. Flour Bluff Hornets
Ray was the 5-4 winner over Flour Bluff when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Texans wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
LUCAS TINAJERO was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He pitched 9.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-6 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, JOSH HERNANDEZ made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Ray's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Flour Bluff, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-11-2.
Coming up, Ray will square off against Gregory-Portland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Flour Bluff, they will challenge Alice at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets are facing the Coyotes at the right time seeing as the Coyotes are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
