Softball Recap: West Wendover Drops Highest Score of Season Against Silver Stage

West Wendover scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Silver Stage Nighthawks by a score of 22-20. Even though they lost, the Wolverines' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Brisieda Haro stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Hadley Hillstead, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.

West Wendover dropped their record down to 4-13 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Silver Stage, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

While West Wendover had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
