Football Recap: Catalina Foothills Comes Up Short

Catalina Foothills came into this matchup off a tough 50-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Douglas Bulldogs by a score of 31-28 on Thursday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.

Ivan Higuera was nothing short of spectacular for Douglas: he rushed for 223 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Higuera also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Bulldogs are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Justin Hurtado, who rushed for 60 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

Catalina Foothills is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7. As for Douglas, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

As of now, neither Catalina Foothills nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
