Softball Recap: Bellevue Takes a Loss

Sandusky hit Bellevue with a four-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Redmen fell 9-6 to the Blue Streaks. The Redmen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Streaks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Payton Hicks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Easterwood, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Bellevue has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Sandusky, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-6.

Coming up, Bellevue will head out on the road to square off against Hopewell-Loudon at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Redmen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chieftains have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Sandusky, they will face off against Mansfield Senior at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
