Triton had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt E.E. Smith on Friday. Triton never let E.E. Smith get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Golden Bulls recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Zach Roberson's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Chase Sewell was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. William Meredith was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Triton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as E.E. Smith only posted an OBP of .125.
Meanwhile, Terry Sanford suffered their biggest defeat since March 2, 2024 on Friday. They lost 9-2 to Overhills. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.
Terry Sanford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Moore, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double was Moore's first of the season.
Terry Sanford moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Triton, their record is now 6-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Triton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Terry Sanford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Triton might still be hurting after the 10-2 defeat they got from Terry Sanford in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Triton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
