The Metro Christian Patriots's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on the Bethel Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Friday, Metro Christian humbled Sequoyah with a 49-7 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Bethel against Heavener on Friday as the team secured a 52-15 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Bethel's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddox Davis, who threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes. Corban Winsett was Davis' top target, picking up 83 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Bethel didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kevin Thornburg and Roger Brooks. Thornburg has been hot recently, having also posted eight or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Another thorn in Heavener's side was Austin Melson, who picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Metro Christian pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.8 points. As for Bethel, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
