Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Quartz Hill). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Antelope Valley Antelopes a 20-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Antelopes recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Christopher Lozano looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Quartz Hill got a massive performance out of Evan Tepper, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave Tepper a new career-high. Jayson Gontes also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Quartz Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .806. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Quartz Hill's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-10. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Antelope Valley, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Quartz Hill beat the Antelopes by a score of 14-0 on Friday.
