The Advanced Math & Science Academy Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Uxbridge Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after five games, but that won't be the case come Friday.
Advanced Math & Science Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Assabet Valley RVT on Wednesday as they made off with a 21-3 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.

Ava McLeod made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Grace Galvin was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Glynn, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Advanced Math & Science Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .675. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Uxbridge got the win against Doherty Memorial on Wednesday by a conclusive 13-2. Considering the Spartans have won four matchups by more than ten runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Advanced Math & Science Academy, Uxbridge also got a great game from a two-way player: Erin O'Day. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 20 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those 20 strikeouts gave O'Day a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, Bailey Dzivasen was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Keira Paul was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Uxbridge pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Advanced Math & Science Academy, their record now sits at 5-0.
Advanced Math & Science Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Uxbridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
