Volleyball Recap: Simpson Academy Comes Up Short

Simpson Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jackson Prep Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 two weeks ago.

Simpson Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-20.

Simpson Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Jackson Prep, they pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Simpson Academy will challenge rival St. Joseph Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Jackson Prep is set to take on their familiar foe Madison-Ridgeland Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
