Baseball Recap: Derry Gets the Win

While Derry's win against Greensburg Salem wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans won by a run and slipped past the Golden Lions 10-9. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Golden Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Anthony Sacco was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Doherty, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The win got Derry back to even at 7-7. As for Greensburg Salem, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Looking ahead, Derry will look to defend their home field on Monday against Knoch at 4:15 p.m. The last three games the Knights have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Greensburg Salem, they will head out on the road to challenge Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
