Baseball Recap: Smoky Valley Takes a Loss

Smoky Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-5 to the Nickerson Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-10 on Monday.

Smoky Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Nickerson, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-18.

Coming up, Smoky Valley will challenge Hoisington at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. Nickerson will be paying especially close attention to Smoky Valley's game: after Smoky Valley faces off against Southeast of Saline, they'll take on Nickerson again.
