Soccer Recap: West Henderson Takes Down North Lincoln in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Henderson had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the North Lincoln Knights. Given West Henderson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while North Lincoln are ranked 251st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Emery Sprouse and Reagan Simons scored both of West Henderson's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

West Henderson is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 49 goals over those ten contests. As for North Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12-2.

Looking ahead, West Henderson will be playing at home against Forestview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Forestview will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something West Henderson surely won't give up without a fight. North Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
