Baseball Game Preview: Tomales Braves vs. Cornerstone Christian Cougars

The Tomales Braves will face off against the Cornerstone Christian Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Thursday, Tomales came up short against Grace Christian Academy and fell 8-5.

Lucas Alves put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Alves was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Alves is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Alves wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Stran Stevens, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Cornerstone Christian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Technology last Monday. Cornerstone Christian narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Technology 13-11.

The team relied heavily on Solis Cesar, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Anthony Furtado was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Tomales now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Cornerstone Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
