Preview: American History Bald Eagles vs. Barringer Blue Bears
After three games on the road, American History is heading back home. They will take on the Barringer Blue Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. American History's defense has only allowed 26.3 points per game this season, so Barringer's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Last Tuesday, American History beat McNair Academic 32-20. The win was just what American History needed coming off of a 59-20 defeat in their prior game.
American History found their leader in underclassman Erica Lawson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lawson has scored all season. Ashiyah Holliman was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 12 rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Barringer's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 48-7 loss at the hands of Science Park. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Barringer has scored all season.
American History has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Barringer, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
American History beat Barringer 40-33 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Does American History have another victory up their sleeve, or will Barringer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
