Baseball Recap: Ennis Comes Up Short

Ennis made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Corsicana, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Ennis saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blaine Zhanel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Ennis' loss dropped their record down to 12-12-2. As for Corsicana, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6-1 record this season.

While Ennis had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
