Basketball Game Preview: Western Panthers vs. Grass Lake Warriors

Western is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Grass Lake is on a seven-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Western Panthers will host the Grass Lake Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Friday. Western really took it to Pennfield for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-22 victory. Given Western's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Pennfield is ranked 371st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything went Grass Lake's way against East Jackson on Tuesday as Grass Lake made off with a 59-37 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

Western's win bumped their record up to 20-1. As for Grass Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.

Western won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2023, slipping by Grass Lake 49-48. Does Western have another victory up their sleeve, or will Grass Lake turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
