Softball Preview: Hot Kickapoo Meets Struggling Carthage

The Kickapoo Chiefs will head out to take on the Carthage Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kickapoo has three straight wins, Carthage has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Kickapoo proved they can win big with a 10-run victory last Thursday. On Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Joplin 13-11.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Carthage came up short against Ozark, falling 11-1.

Kickapoo has now won 10 of their last 11 games at home. That gives them a 5-2 record this season. Those home wins were made possible by their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Carthage, they have now lost six of their last seven games on the road. That's taken a bite out of their 4-9 record this season.
