Basketball Game Preview: McCook Bison vs. Northwest Vikings

McCook is 0-5 against Northwest since February of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the McCook Bison will head out on the road to face off against the Northwest Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Monday, McCook beat Hastings 56-48. The win continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwest). They really took it to Lexington for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-35 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-13.

Northwest's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. As for McCook, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.

McCook came up short against Northwest when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 39-27. Can McCook avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
