Preview: Southern Rams vs. Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers
The Southern Rams will head out on the road to take on the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Southern comes in on 11 and Berlin Brothersvalley on four.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Southern beat Musselman 50-46.
Southern can attribute much of their success to Jayden Weaver, who scored ten points along with five steals, and Emelee Parks, who scored 12 points along with five steals. Parks is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Wilt, who scored four points along with two steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Berlin Brothersvalley gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 59-25 victory over Windber.
Southern pushed their record up to 17-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
Southern came out on top in a nail-biter against Berlin Brothersvalley in their previous meeting back in February of 2018, sneaking past 44-42. Does Southern have another victory up their sleeve, or will Berlin Brothersvalley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
