Basketball Recap: Yates Center's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

The matchup between Yates Center and Chetopa on Wednesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Yates Center Wildcats were the clear victor by a 68-47 margin over the Chetopa Hornets. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Yates Center's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Chetopa, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yates Center will challenge Oswego at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oswego is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season. As for Chetopa, they will take on Altoona-Midway at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
