Baseball Recap: Tamalpais Triumphs

While Tamalpais's victory against Branson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Tailed Hawks narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bulls 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Tailed Hawks have posted since May 24, 2025.

Tamalpais gave Henry Pearson the start and clearly made the right call: he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pearson has become a key player for the Red Tailed Hawks: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 4-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Tamalpais' win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Murphy, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Tamalpais and bumps their season record up to 6-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Branson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Tamalpais will have a chance to go back-to-back against Branson: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
