Baseball Recap: Peoria Notre Dame Sets Scoring Season-High Against Danville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Peoria Notre Dame). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Danville Vikings a 25-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Irish, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jackson Roe looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Peoria Notre Dame got a massive performance out of Joe Culp, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave Culp a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Campbell, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and five RBI.

Peoria Notre Dame kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Peoria Notre Dame moved to 9-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Danville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

Coming up, Peoria Notre Dame will take on Richwoods at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Danville will be paying especially close attention to the Irish's contest: after the Irish face off against the Knights, they'll take on Danville again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
