Recap: St. Francis Mariners vs. Messmer Bishops
The St. Francis Mariners had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They managed a 58-54 win over Messmer. For St. Francis, this counts as revenge for the 81-78 defeat Messmer walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
St. Francis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keenan Green, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaron Johnson, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds.
St. Francis' win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Messmer, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis will take on SWCHA S at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Messmer, they will be playing at home against St. John's Northwestern Military Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
