Softball Recap: Russellville Find Success

Russellville hadn't done well against Farmington recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cyclones walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Cardinals. This was a revenge game for the Cyclones: when they faced off against the Cardinals on Tuesday, they had to take a 10-7 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Maddie Brady, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Brooklynn Hayes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The win got Russellville back to even at 10-10. As for Farmington, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Russellville will head out to square off against Greenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Farmington, they will venture away from home to take on Rogers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 3.2, the Mountaineers 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
