Soccer Recap: Pierce Comes Up Short

Pierce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to the Corning Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 932nd, while the Cardinals are ranked 240th).

Pierce's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Corning, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1.

Pierce didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-2 defeat against Live Oak on the 17th. As for Corning, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 4-0 win against Red Bluff on the 17th.
