Lamar waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Salida Spartans an 18-0 shutout. The Thunder have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Alex Williams was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jacob Dunning, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Lamar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .371 or higher in three consecutive games.

Lamar now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Salida, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lamar beat the Spartans by a score of 19-0 later that day.
