Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Jordan walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Northern Durham Knights a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

Jordan got a great performance from Luke Samples as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over 6.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Frankie Gilchrist, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Jordan pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Northern Durham, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Jordan will look to defend their home field on Friday against Middle Creek at 6:00 p.m. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Northern Durham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
